The Hypnosis Academy believes in teaching the most effective methods and techniques. Learn from a NGH Certified Instructor, Certified Hypnotherapist and member of the NGH Teaching Faculty.

These are just some of the wonderful accomplishments you can have by becoming a Certified Hypnotherapist or Certified Consulting Hypnotist at The Hypnosis Academy. Below I address come of the most frequent questions I receive about our training and classes.

How long does it take to become NGH Certified?

The NGH Hypnosis Certification requires 100 hours of training by an NGH Certified Instructor. 80 of those hours are in a classroom situation and 20 are homework assignments during the course of the class. At The Hypnosis Academy you not only become certified, but proficient as a hypnotist. Many classes can teach out of a book, teach theory and "How-To". At The Hypnosis Academy you learn "hands-on" how to hypnotize and how to do the most common applications of hypnosis.

Do I need a license to practice as a Consulting Hypnotist?

Learn to Be a Hypnotherapist in Chester County, Pennsylvania

In most states, Hypnotherapy is a non-licensed profession. Indiana is the only state so far to strictly license the practice of Hypnotherapy, although there are several states that restrict the practice of Hypnotherapy to licensed mental health or medical practitioners. Pennsylvania is a state, like most others, where a Certified NGH Hypnotist operating by the NGH Code of Ethics and Standards can legally practice. We have trained students from Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Maryland and if you have any questions regarding any restrictions in your state, please contact the National Guild of Hypnotists at 603.429.9438 and they'll be glad to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Do I need a college degree to become a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist?

Many of our graduates have college training, nursing or advanced degrees (PhD's, MD's, etc.). However, many of our grads do not have college training and it is not required to become a Cetified Hypnotist.

What does it take to become a successful Hypnotherapist?

It is a profession that can provide great assistance to others, so a desire to do work that helps others helps greatly. A Certified Hypnotist can often do many different activities in their business, such as marketing, advertising, accounting, advising, teaching and coaching, so there really is no boredom and we find that our graduates become more personally satisfied by interacting with their clients. Like anything, it requires effort, persistence and hard work, but those who practice as Certified Hypnotherapists are usually quite happy in their careers and would not trade for anything.

How much can I charge as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist?

That will depend on where you practice. In larger, more affluent metropolitan areas, you will be able to charge more for your work. So, depending on location, you will be able to charge between $75 and $250 per hour for your work.
